KPMG’s EU Tax Centre (ETC) has an opportunity for an experienced Tax (Senior) Manager to manage our day-to-day operations in Amsterdam.
You will be working at the heart of KPMG’s direct tax network and managing a small team of seconded tax professionals under the direction of the Chairman of the ETC, Robert van der Jagt, and of Raluca Enache, a Director within the team.
The ETC deals with EU-wide developments from the EU institutions in the area of direct tax (legislative initiatives, state aid issues, decisions from the Court of Justice of the EU, the work of the Code of Conduct Group, etc.) and also with international developments coming from the OECD. Hot topics at the moment include implementation of anti-avoidance rules, digital economy, mandatory disclosure rules and dispute resolution mechanisms.
The work is varied and focuses on staying on top of relevant EU and international developments and creating resources that add value to KPMG’s networks of EU tax specialists and their clients. Typical daily activity will include, for example:
– deciding on the topics to be included in EU Tax news publications, drafting news items and reviewing items prepared by other team members;
– drafting presentation materials and conducting presentations (either face to face or via WebEx);
– coordinating and reviewing comparative surveys and public consultation responses;
– reviewing technical materials prepared by the team for internal and external websites;
– responding to technical queries from the EU Tax network; and
– providing guidance and coaching for more junior members of the team.
The ideal candidate will have at least 5-6 years experience in the direct tax field, with an active interest in both international corporate tax and, of course, EU Tax. The candidate should have strong people management, organizational, analytical and writing skills and, of course, be a team player.
